I know… the specs on my iMac aren’t great, but… oh well. Downloaded this and had to adjust it to mostly “lows” for everything so my system could run it, but it still is pretty cool and playable. Not too glitchy. My kids love it b/c of the LOTR references. Not sure if it’s worth $50, but it’s worth buying and having some fun. I also play Batman, Hitman, Tomb Raider and the Lego Games on this system and not too many problems.

I never played Batman: Arkham Asylum which many of my friends compared the game play to, so I had no idea what to expect. I enjoy it, runs very solid, but will crash if you move to a different workspace for an extended period of time when you go back to the game. I am about 30% through the game so far, mainly because I am doing side quests as well, but played a good 30 hours or so. It’s open-world, has moments with very fast battles with many Uruks, but usually can be relatively minor quarrels.

I’m writing this because there were lots of questions asked on the internet. I’m using macbook pro retina 13” of late 2013 with Intel Iris 1536. Now this graphic card is, I’d say, one of the worst. I cannot run Metro Last light with it. And when I open this game the system says that I cannot run it, but it does run smoothly when I set all the video stuff to low. This of course means that you cannot experience the game fully(The enemies’ heads will literally look like clay). So um... have a think about that before buying. But despite that I loved the dramatic gameplay and the story(And the fact that I have 5GB disk space left). Great game!! Oh and steam MIGHT do a free weekend on this. You might be able to check if your mac meets the requirements.

Anxiously purchased this game app anticipating hours of enjoyment. i generally don’t write reviews but this experience left me compelled to do so. This app won’t run on my mid ’11 MBP, memory and graphics won’t support it. No problem. My issue is, this needs to be expressly put UP FRONT under system requirements so potential buyers will know BEFORE making a decision to purchase. Shame on the developers for this shady practice, and Apple should require they do so, it is dishonest, and deceitful. I, for one, will be requesting a refund.

Same issue as CCATTRN95!!! No warning about what is and what is not supported. Compatability states OSX 10.10.2 or later. I am running El Capitan on mid 2010 machine. Game would not run!! Will be requesting refund.

this is PATHETIC !! ihave the most expensive 2015 macbook pro and this game is laggy jerky and unplayable, when i can get it to run at all. after a full day i am giving up on it. for a company the PERFECTLY ported arkham city (until el captain made that unplaybale also) this game is a huge let down. im not sure why it lags so bad even when way under par on graphics settings, shouldnt have to do that anyway. it still runs horrible. now it wont even load. feral and apple, two companies that i loved are quikly going bad. im sick of being an overcharged beta tester for games and OS

The screenshots do not do service to this great game. You are set in a living world with incredible landscapes and whole towns to scamper through. You can fight straight with your sword, snipe with your bow, or play stealthily. The voice acting is superb and the story is also very good. There are missions to undertake, which keeps you moving forward and yet the world is truly completely open. And there is a light role-playing element, where you can upgrade your weapons and skills. The only downside are a couple “boss fights” — I don’t get why game-makers think these are such a good idea. In summary, if your computer can handle this game, you will find a long opportunity to have fun and put yourself in the LOTR world.

This game if extreamly fun! With an engaging storyline and a conbat system reminisent to that of an arkham game. The gameplay is everthing you could have asked for in a LOTR Game! Enjoy!

Brand new macbook pro 15 retina its less than a week old. I bought this game as my first purfchase and have been trying to download for 2 days. How do I cancel and get my money back? What a joke! Also I have a 75 lightning connection and I tried from my home and my business which is also 75 connection!

I bought this game knowing i had a 2015 macbook Pro which far exceeded the min requirements listed in the description. I start the game and the FIRST thing it tells me is that my computer does NOT meet the min requirements to play the game and it will be choppy. Someone is lying. Is it the min requirements or is it my mac?

do not buy this game

I bought this game 3 days ago and im still waiting for it to download… really regret spending the money on this game

My Macbook Pro 13 does not meet the minimum requirement of this game. I have to make the resolution be 33% to run it smoothly but it seemed so awful. I think the app store should list the Macs that have the internal for this game becasue this app store serves Macs only!!!

I have a 2015 mac pro “LOAD” with 1 TB SSD card from others and it plays great in full blown graphics on the Large Retina display. Only problem I have is trying to kill the bad guys with out getting killed. I did have to wait a very long time to get it downloaded!

I’ve never written a game review before but I’m so disappointed in this game here I am. $50 down the drain. I’m not having problems like the others with the game stuttering, infact it looks beautiful but this has to be one of the worst games I’ve ever played for controls. You can’t see where you’re going, it’s hard to tell where enemies are until they’ve spotted you and God help you if you need to fight any. Every time you want to turn the camera swings around and you’re stuck looking at your character’s chest. Sound great except you’ll accidently run into guys you can’t see. Fighting is awful too. It’s just button mashing, but not in the fun way. The controls make it completely unplayable. I was really looking forward to playing this since I’m a huge LoTR fan and it got great reviews when it came out, but I’m only a little bit in and I’m ready to say screw it already. Not worth the money at all.

This is very frustrating. I paid $50 for a game that I can’t play on my pretty recent Macbook pro with retina display. Don’t buy this game only your computer is fully upgraded. What a ripoff.
